Santos to wear Pelé-branded kit against Atlético-MG at Vila Belmiro | OneFootball

Santos will wear Pelé branding on their kit against Atlético-MG at Vila Belmiro on Saturday in the 11th round of the Brasileirão.

The move follows an agreement between NR Sports, the brand’s new owner, the club and Umbro, which ceded shirt space for the occasion.

It forms part of a wider Pelé Brand relaunch after NR Sports bought the rights late last year.

“This brand was underused and poorly handled, both in Brazil and abroad. Now we will ensure a property worthy of what its name and identity represent in the world, done professionally and in a structured way,” said Guto Cappio, global general manager of Pelé Brand, speaking to Meio & Mensagem.

The initiative echoes Brazil’s national team producing a shirt with the Air Jordan logo in place of the Nike logo.
