With roughly two months until the transfer window opens, São Paulo have entered the chase for Flamengo winger Luiz Araújo.
According to Coluna Do Fla, the interest aligns with Flamengo’s move for Marcos Antônio, and the São Paulo club could propose a part-exchange involving the winger and the midfielder, with additional payment if required.
Beyond São Paulo, the forward is on the radar of two Belo Horizonte sides. Cruzeiro attempted to sign him early in the year during Flamengo’s talks over Kaio Jorge, before Atlético-MG joined the pursuit.
Although their first approach was rejected, Atlético-MG still want the 29-year-old and are preparing an offer. He is under contract with Flamengo until December 2027.
Araújo has 21 appearances this season, with three goals and two assists. After a quiet start under Filipe Luís, the winger has seen increased minutes under head coach Leonardo Jardim.
With Araújo available, Flamengo visit Vitória on Thursday 14 at 21:30 Brasília time at Barradão in the Copa do Brasil fifth-phase second leg. Having won 2-1 in the first game, they need only a draw to reach the last 16.
