São Paulo are said to have withdrawn from a move for Porto B centre-back Felipe Silva after assessing the costs, UOL reports.

The decision followed an initial consultation in which the board judged the asking price to be beyond the club’s financial reality.

The Brazilian side held exploratory talks to understand the terms of a potential deal, but no bid was made.

Felipe Silva, aged 24, is due to report tomorrow to João Brandão’s squad.

Porto remain open to proposals for the defender.
