Corinthians are seeking midfield reinforcements and have identified São Paulo’s Alisson, who was left out of the club’s latest Paulistão fixture.
According to ge.globo, a fresh enquiry from Corinthians executive Marcelo Paz has been made, with talks exploring either a player swap or a loan with a fixed fee. Corinthians proposed several names, but none appealed to São Paulo.
The club made initial contact last week to gauge the 32-year-old’s situation. Alisson is contracted to São Paulo until December 2027.
Despite the interest, he started the Paulistão opener, a 3-0 defeat to Mirassol at Estádio Maião. For the meeting with São Bernardo he did not make the matchday squad as head coach Hernán Crespo rotated with Sunday’s Majestoso in mind.
Alisson became a trusted, versatile midfield option under Dorival Júnior at São Paulo and was important in the 2023 Copa do Brasil triumph.
With his future unresolved, Corinthians face São Paulo on Sunday at 16:00 at Neo Química Arena in the third round of the Campeonato Paulista.
