The São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office says former Corinthians president Andrés Sanchez breached a court order and is seeking tougher measures, including an electronic tag. Blog do Macedo first reported the filing.
The request examines alleged violations of a ruling by the second Court for Organised Crime, Money Laundering and Tax Crimes that bars contact with directors and witnesses.
Prosecutors dismissed some points, finding no breach in Sanchez’s appearance before the club’s Justice and Ethics Commission or a meeting with a lifetime councillor outside Parque São Jorge.
The stance differs over contact with secretary-general Antônio Jorge Rachid, who said he received a call from Sanchez on 30 January 2026, after Sanchez had been formally notified of the no-contact order.
They argue the secretary-general counts as a director under article 64 of the General Sports Law, Law 14.597/23, given its managerial remit.
Prosecutors conclude the decision was broken. They have not sought preventive detention now but warned the violation could bring tougher action.
Citing article 282, paragraph four, and article 319, item IX, of the Code of Criminal Procedure, they asked the court to impose electronic monitoring and for Sanchez to hand in his Spanish passport.
Investigators also requested phone billing records for his number from 30 December 2025 to 25 February 2026 to check for other contacts. The petition will be added to the main case file for a ruling.
