São Paulo suffer fresh blow as Paulinho ruled out of Flamengo opener | OneFootball

According to Coluna Do Fla, São Paulo have suffered a fresh blow for their Campeonato Brasileiro opener at MorumBIS, with Paulinho unavailable after a left knee ligament strain. Head coach Hernán Crespo now faces a new selection headache.

The highly rated forward was São Paulo’s standout in the Copinha, scoring six goals, and will miss the meeting with Flamengo.

Flamengo also have issues, with five absentees for the match. Danilo and De La Cruz remain in the medical department, while Luiz Araújo is under load management following muscle pain.

Head coach Filipe Luís has not named Allan and Michael. Although neither has a muscle problem, Allan is in talks to join São Paulo, and Michael is close to signing for Santos.
