Sasa Kalajdzic has earned an Austria recall during his loan at LASK, despite a difficult, injury-hit spell with Wolves.
As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves signed him for £15m in 2022 under Bruno Lage, but an ACL tear in his Premier League debut forced a nine-month lay-off.
He returned the following season and scored his first Wolves goal, then left on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2024. Five games into that stint he sustained another ACL rupture, an injury that was set to rule him out for the entire 2024/25 campaign.
He fought back last summer and made a long-awaited comeback in the EFL Cup win over West Ham. He also played in a Premier League meeting with Everton earlier this season, then moved to Austrian side LASK on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
Goals have been scarce, with one so far, though he has logged seven starts and seven substitute appearances. His last Austria outing was as a late substitute in a friendly win over Germany in November 2023, with his previous start the month before. Austria will play Ghana and South Korea later this month.
