The ongoing season has been a difficult one for FC Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado, who has fallen down the pecking order at the club.

Minutes have become hard to come by for the homegrown midfielder, while he has been far from convincing when given an opportunity by manager Hansi Flick.

It has led to growing speculations about Casado’s future at Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window.

Saudi Arabia eyeing Casado

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Casado is attracting significant interest from the Saudi Pro League, which is prepared to offer him a highly lucrative contract ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Last year, he was already the subject of interest from the Premier League and Atletico Madrid, and he is now receiving major proposals from Saudi Arabia.

However, those close to the player’s camp state that he is not currently considering leaving Barcelona. His immediate focus is on helping the Blaugrana compete for their main objectives this season: La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

So far this campaign, Casado has made 29 appearances, accumulating 1,276 minutes across all competitions.

Although injuries to Frenkie de Jong initially opened up opportunities, the return of Marc Bernal has reduced his role in recent weeks.

The Catalan midfielder renewed his contract in June 2024 until 2028 and has a release clause set at €100 million.

Casado is expected to review all offers at the end of the season before making a decision regarding his future, especially with continued interest from multiple clubs.
