Lionel Scaloni has written another chapter in Argentina's football history after guiding La Albiceleste to a second consecutive FIFA World Cup final with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over England.
After Anthony Gordon handed the Three Lions the lead early in the second half, Argentina responded through Enzo Fernández before Lautaro Martínez struck the winner to send the defending champions into Sunday's showpiece.
The result sees Scaloni become just the seventh manager to reach two World Cup finals and only the fifth to do so in successive tournaments.
Having led Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar in 2022, the 48-year-old now has the chance to emulate Italy legend Vittorio Pozzo as the only coaches to win back-to-back World Cup titles.
Scaloni joins an elite managerial group that includes Didier Deschamps, Franz Beckenbauer, Carlos Bilardo, Helmut Schön, Mário Zagallo and Pozzo.
Since taking charge in 2018, he has transformed Argentina into one of international football's dominant forces, with another World Cup crown now within touching distance.
