Scaloni meets Chiqui Tapia as Argentina focus on World Cup | OneFootball

Scaloni met AFA president Chiqui Tapia with 23 days remaining before the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

According to SuperDepor.com, Tapia posted a photo with the head coach and said they were focused and already in World Cup mode as they prepare to represent Argentina.

The meeting could be significant, with Scaloni expected to confirm his final 26 in the coming days as Argentina pursue a fourth star.

On Monday it emerged that Tapia, who faces legal proceedings over alleged improper withholding of contributions, will be allowed to travel to the tournament after lodging a 30 million pesos guarantee.

At the World Cup, Argentina will be in Group J alongside Algeria, Austria and Jordan.

The image also showed a small statue on Tapia’s desk depicting him holding the World Cup.
