Schalke 04 close in on loan deals for Bundesliga veterans Felix Uduokhai and Jesper Lindstrøm | OneFootball

Separate reliable sources are currently reporting that newly promoted Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 are making progress in their efforts to acquire defender Jesper Lindstrøm and Felix Uduokhai. Frank Baumann and the S04 administrative team have already acquired two players with extensive Bundesliga experience this summer in the form of keeper Kevin Müller (Heidenheim) and striker Junior Adamu (Freiburg).

Additionally, “native son” Robin Gosens (formerly of Union Berlin) is also on board at the club he once dreamed of playing for as a child. In Lindstrøm and Uduokhai, die Königsblauen hope two more proven Bundesliga talents. Together, the pair bring with them a combined total of 220 Bundesliga appearances. 

Schalke working on loan deal for Felix Uduokhai

Belgian transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri reports that Schalke have contacted Beşiktaş about the possibility of acquiring Uduokhai on loan with an option to buy. The 28-year-old has been playing in Turkey for the last two seasons after departing his long-time club Augsburg at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign. A successful year-long loan-stint in Istanbul, Uduokhai joined Beşiktaş permanently ahead of the 2025/26 season. 

After seeing drastically less playing time last year, Uduokhai is thought to fancy a move back to his home country. The former Germany U21 international and Olympic representative’s estimated market value has plummeted from €8m to €3.5m over the course of the last 18 months. The versatile defender will almost certainly receive regular playing time in Gelsenkirchen.

Napoli eager to offload Jesper Lindstrøm

Lindstrøm spent last season on loan at relegated Wolfsburg and was widely regarded as one of the biggest – if not the biggest – flop of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. The Dane’s days of dazzling for Eintracht Frankfurt are nevertheless not forgotten and Schalke remain eager to give the 26-year-old another shot. 

Kicker and the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung report that Schalke and Napoli are close to finalizing a deal; a loan with an obligatory purchase clause tied to a low number of appearances. Such an arrangement would make a great deal of sense for all parties involved.
