Schalke 04 are weighing up a move for Brighton & Hove Albion defender Igor Julio as they seek defensive reinforcements before the new season. According to BuLi News, the Royal Blues have identified the Brazilian as a potential target.

The 28-year-old joined Brighton in 2023 after a productive spell at Fiorentina, where he featured in domestic and European competitions. He has experience across leading leagues.

Brighton paid around €17 million, with his value later peaking at €22 million before settling near €10 million. His ability to operate at centre-back and left-back adds appeal.

A loan to West Ham United was cut short midway through the 2025/26 campaign, prompting a return to Brighton in search of regular minutes. A switch to Schalke could offer a fresh start and give the Gelsenkirchen club a proven option at the back.
