Schalke ‘to enquire’ about Nigerian striker Ilenikhena | OneFootball

According to BuLi News, Schalke are among the clubs interested in signing Ilenikhena from Al-Ittihad. Any move looks complicated for the newly promoted Bundesliga side, as the Saudi Pro League club paid €33 million to buy him from AS Monaco in January.

The 19-year-old is already seeking a return to Europe after only six appearances, with five as a substitute. Al-Ittihad are said to be open to a loan with an option to buy.

The report also names Championship side West Ham United and Genoa as clubs exploring a deal.

Ilenikhena signed a contract until 2029 on joining the Jeddah club. He has been involved in transfers worth nearly €60 million before turning 20 next month.

He scored against Barcelona in the Champions League for both Royal Antwerp and Monaco.
