Schalke ‘to secure’ Lindstrøm deal amid progress in talks | OneFootball

Schalke are making rapid progress in their pursuit of Jesper Lindstrøm, with talks advancing with Napoli and the player, WAZ reports.

The 18-time Danish international is under contract with Napoli until 2028 but is expected to leave this summer. A loan with an option, or an obligation to buy if Schalke avoid relegation, is being considered.

The Dane offers Bundesliga know-how from spells with Eintracht Frankfurt and, last season, Wolfsburg. The 26-year-old struggled there, failing to record a goal or assist.

It is considered unlikely he will join the newly promoted side at their training camp, which the squad left for on Sunday.

Even so, the overall mood is that Schalke have a good chance of pulling off another transfer coup.
