Scott Lindsey named new York City manager | OneFootball

York City have announced the appointment of Scott Lindsey as the club's new head coach.

The Minstermen are back in the Football League for the 2026/27 season but made the controversial decision to sack National League-winning manager Stuart Maynard on Sunday.

Now the club have chosen former Crawley Town and MK Dons manager Lindsey as Maynard's successor. Lindsey was in charge of Crawley last season but was sacked in March after a 10-game winless streak.

Coincidentally, Lindsey's first game in charge of York City will be against Crawley Town next Monday in the Carabao Cup before the Minstermen then host Bristol Rovers on their return to League Two.
