Steve Clarke has named Scotland’s 26-player squad for the 2026 World Cup, with Scott McTominay and John McGinn among the headline selections. The standout inclusion is 43-year-old Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon in a group where no keeper is a club regular.
According to L'Équipe, the three goalkeepers, Angus Gunn, Liam Kelly and Gordon, spent almost the entire season on the bench. Gunn made one appearance for Nottingham Forest, Kelly featured in two cup games for Rangers, and Gordon played three times for Hearts as he returns from injury.
Elsewhere Clarke has kept faith with leaders Andy Robertson, McTominay and McGinn. The squad is drawn largely from England and Scotland, with 20 of the 26 based there. Teenager Findlay Curtis, 19, is the least experienced pick with one cap.
The pool also includes Kieran Tierney, Aaron Hickey, Grant Hanley, Jack Hendry, Billy Gilmour, Lewis Ferguson, Kenny McLean and Lyndon Dykes, plus strikers Che Adams and Lawrence Shankland.
Scotland return to the World Cup for the first time since 1998 and have been placed in Group C. They will face Brazil led by Neymar, Haiti and Morocco between 11 June and 19 July.
