In Argentina's case, Leo Balerdi was ruled out of the tournament after suffering an injury during a training session before the World Cup.

On the other hand, Cristian Roldan picked up an injury during the tournament, which kept him out of several matches.

Regarding that, the Seattle Sounders midfielder spoke about his frustration after suffering an injury during the World Cup.

The USMNT reached the Round of 16, where it was eliminated following a loss to Belgium.

Yet the tournament proved bittersweet for Cristian Roldan, who recently shared his frustration at suffering a mid-tournament injury that sidelined him during the decisive matches when his team needed him most.

Despite the disappointment of his situation, the midfielder emphasized that simply being part of the group was something invaluable.

“For me personally, it didn’t go as well as I had hoped. Obviously, getting injured and wasn't able to feature in a game. But I felt part of the team, and I had a great experience altogether.”

Adding: “You know, winning games with the team, feeling part of the team, doing something remarkable in the group stage. But for me as a professional, yeah, a little frustrating. But I can take a lot out of the experience. I understand what it means to play in a big tournament and what you need in that type of pressure environment.”

Despite the situation, the midfielder remained optimistic, but he also revealed a reality that will concern Seattle Sounders fans, as it has to do with the team's upcoming MLS matches.

“So it was frustrating that I got injured, but, you know, it is what it is, and I am just glad to be a part of it and glad to have done it with the guys that I was able to do it with. Unfortunately, I re-aggravated my injury trying to push to make the knockout rounds.”

Although the expectation is that he will have recovered, Roldan could still miss this week's match against FC Dallas, or at the very least see his minutes limited after re-aggravating the injury while pushing to be available for the World Cup knockout stage.
