Sebastian Hoeneß says Stuttgart have no plans to sign a goalkeeper despite Dennis Seimen’s lay-off, as they gear up for a Champions League return.
According to BuLi News, Seimen will be unavailable until at least the end of September, and there is currently no sign of a move for cover.
Speaking after a 5-0 pre-season win over FSV Hollenbach, Hoeneß said he had talked with Seimen, who was disappointed but already looking ahead. He added the club are doing everything to bring him back as quickly as possible.
Hoeneß said Stuttgart are satisfied with their goalkeeping group, particularly Fabian Bredlow, and as things stand see no need to add anyone. He stressed confidence in the current options.
Seimen will reclaim the number one shirt once fully fit. The Germany U21 international helped Paderborn win promotion to the Bundesliga before returning to his parent club to replace Alexander Nübel.
