The Seconde Ligue will feature 11 teams in 2026-27. The 12th place remained unfilled after RC Lens were reinstated in the Arkema Première Ligue following Dijon FCO’s exclusion by the DNCG.

The Ligue féminine de football professionnel announced the decision on Monday 20 July, confirming the women’s second tier will run with an odd number of clubs this season.

As a result, one club will sit out each matchday. The league calendar has been updated, as has the LFFP Cup schedule for clubs across the top two divisions.

The accession order was applied but every eligible side declined to fill the vacancy. Rodez refused a reprieve to the Seconde Ligue and Caen, third in Group A in D3 last season, turned down administrative promotion.

The confirmed participants are Auxerre, Bourges, Cannes, Grenoble, Le Mans, Lille, Metz, Nice, Roubaix, Saint-Étienne and Thonon-Évian.
