CD Castellón B enter the 2026/27 Segunda Federación for a second successive season after regaining their place, in a division increasingly shaped by reserve sides. The competitive demands provide an ideal stage for young players to step up, sharing the pitch with historic clubs.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the league will feature 23 reserve teams across five groups, close to a quarter of all entrants. Their distribution is uneven, clustering in specific footballing regions.

Group 2 hosts the most with six, including CD Castellón B. They will face Osasuna B, Espanyol B, Barcelona Atlètic, Girona B and UD Logroñés B.

In the north, group 1 lines up five, namely Real Madrid C, Rayo Cantabria, Oviedo Vetusta, Eibar B and Alavés B.

Each of the other three groups includes four reserve sides. Group 3 features Mallorca B, Valencia Mestalla, Elche Ilicitano and Murcia Imperial. Group 4 contains Betis Deportivo, Sevilla Atlético, Las Palmas Atlético and Tenerife B.

Group 5 brings Atlético Albacete, Getafe B, Atlético de Madrid C and Valladolid Promesas.

Within this landscape, Castellón’s youngsters aim to learn quickly and avoid relegation. A second straight year at this level marks stability, though the club recognises that survival will require extra effort.

The season begins on 6 September. CD Castellón B open against Terrassa at Gaetà Huguet, where they will try to secure the first three points.
