Semedo strikes late to rescue Watford at Hillsborough | OneFootball

Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Watford at Hillsborough as Vivaldo Semedo's late equaliser maintained the visitors' hold on ninth and left the hosts bottom.

In the 54th minute, Jerry Yates glanced a header into the top left from Sean Fusire's cross to put The Owls ahead.

Egil Selvik kept The Hornets in it with sharp stops after the restart, while Pierce Charles produced late saves as pressure built before the leveller.

After second half changes, the visitors gathered momentum. Thomas Ince and Semedo arrived late, and Semedo swept in Imran Louzan's pass (90.).

Six minutes were added in both halves.

The Hornets registered 19 attempts and controlled 65.7% possession. The Owls managed 11 attempts and 34.3% of the ball.
