Senegal have qualified for the World Cup last 32 as one of the eight best third-placed teams, after a 5-0 win over Iraq and results elsewhere went their way.

They had opened the tournament with two defeats.

Before the final round of group fixtures, the Lions of Teranga are fifth in the ranking of third-placed sides and cannot be displaced beyond eighth, the last qualifying slot.

Their next opponents are yet to be confirmed, and could be England.
