Senne Lammens didn’t disappoint on his debut for Manchester United.

Signed from Royal Antwerp in a deal worth around £20 million on deadline day, Lammens had to wait a while for his first appearance under Ruben Amorim, who initially showed more faith in Altay Bayindir.

On Saturday, Lammens was one of United’s most promising players in their 2-0 win over Sunderland. His assured presence between the sticks, confident cross-claiming and long passes greatly helped Amorim’s side, who recorded their first clean sheet of the season.

The Old Trafford crowd got the first glimpse of his quality against Sunderland, but he has been doing the same at Carrington since his arrival.

Lammens making positive impression behind the scenes

According to CentreDevils, United’s staff and players have been very impressed with Lammens’ work ethic in training.

It is understood the 23-year-old has been doing “extra fitness sessions as well as practising his distribution on the grass after normal team sessions.”

Those sessions certainly came in handy against Sunderland, as Lammens recorded 33 long passes on the afternoon.

Amorim decided to go long and direct against the newly-promoted visitors in search of a much-needed win, and Lammens was exceptional at it. Since the start of last campaign, no other United goalkeeper has attempted that many long passes in a league game.

The report further suggests the Belgian has quickly settled into life in Manchester, having found a house in Manchester. It is believed that coaches are raving about his mentality to be one of the first in training and the last ones out.

Sesko has surprised Man United coaches

Another new signing, Benjamin Sesko, also enjoyed an encouraging afternoon against the Black Cats, registering his second goal for the Mancunians.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the Slovenian has left many figures at Carrington stunned with his fitness. Sesko has also earned plaudits for his attitude in training.

Amorim has put a lot of emphasis on improving the culture at United, and his recent recruits suggest his project is moving in the right direction.
