Liverpool could complete a sensational swap deal with Real Madrid after a new update has emerged.
Over the last few years, the Spanish giants have become a real thorn in the Reds' side.
Real Madrid have beaten Liverpool in two Champions League finals and also took Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free contract. They have contributed to some of the worst memories of our lives watching football.
And their misery is a historical one.
Real Madrid love to take Liverpool's best players. Steve McManaman was also lured to the Spanish capital as was Michael Owen, Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa.
Time and time again Real Madrid have come for Liverpool's best players.
And they are sniffing about for their services again.
Ibrahima Konate is on their radar, as is Dominik Szoboszlai. The former could end-up following in suit of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The latter will be unlikely to leave the club but you just never know, he has been cozying up to Vinicius Junior recently.
Interestingly, the most intriguing deal could involve neither of the players mentioned. In fact, there is a swap deal to be had with two players who both Real Madrid and Liverpool seem open to letting go.
A recent update has claimed that the Spanish giants will be open to accepting an offer of €50m or above for Eduardo Camavinga this summer.
We revealed exclusively on Anfield Watch that there is a six-man midfield shortlist for Liverpool this summer and this includes Eduardo Camavinga, who Michael Edwards is a huge fan of.
Camavinga would be more suited to the intensity of the Premier League and on top of that he is a valuable addition because he can play as a left-back as well.
Given Andy Robertson could possibly leave the club upon the expiry of his contract, Liverpool may need a back-up in that department and in Camavinga they could get that and more.
And if he is available than Liverpool may not even have to make an offer that is as high as that asking price, they could just propose a swap deal that works for everyone.
The Athletic has claimed that Alexis Mac Allister was well-liked by Real Madrid during Carlo Ancelotti's reign and that he could become an option for the Spanish side again, as signing a midfielder will be a priority for them in the summer.
Mac Allister has been a brilliant player but it feels like he suits the intensity of the Premier League and Arne Slot's system the least of the current midfield options.
Right now, it is also the case that negotiations for a new deal with Mac Allister seem to be the least of Liverpool's priorities.
So, letting him go for an alternative would make sense.
There's a world in which the two sides could very well complete a sensational swap deal involving one of Real Madrid's own stars.
If Real Madrid are open to buying Mac Allister then it makes sense for them to be open to this swap deal as well, since Camavinga is always on the periphery of the team, and doesn't really get played in his preferred midfield role and now they are clearly prepared to let him go.
There's a world in which this deal works for both sides, given the latest update on how Camavinga is viewed by Real Madrid, the deal is definitely on.
