The Argentine star Juliano Alvarez has significantly shaken up the transfer market with his recent comments, as he expressed his desire to leave Atletico Madrid and wants to join FC Barcelona. The Blaugranes were reportedly waiting for the player to take such an action before they take the next step in his pursuit.
Meanwhile, reactions to his statements have also started coming in, and one individual who has gave his opinion on this matter is the one former player with whom Alvarez’s career up to now matches the closest, i.e., the former Argentine forward Kun Aguero. Like the spider, he also played for Atletico Madrid and Manchester City in his career, and Barcelona could also turn out to be another club in which both these players have played, if Alvarez’s move materializes this summer.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Aguero appeared in an interview with Jijantes, and had some clear advice for his former club Atletico Madrid:
“Obviously the club isn’t going to say it, so the only option is for the player to be sincere and honest. He says he met with the club and they concluded that the best thing is a transfer… If I were the club and a player wasn’t happy with the city or whatever reason, felt uncomfortable with his teammates, the coach, or a director… if he’s not comfortable, the best thing is to find a solution and sell him.”
The former forward was clear that both the Colchoneros and the player would lose if his transfer is blocked:
“You’re not going to keep a player around all year with a bad attitude and negative energy. If he’s not comfortable, the club has to help him. That’s how I think it works… When a player isn’t happy, every club takes whatever stance it wants, and in the end the player is the one who loses.”
Meanwhile, Aguero also talked about his fit at the Blaugrana club:
“He would fit into many clubs, but at Barça he would fit spectacularly because of the way he plays… He’s a tremendous player, a footballer who can play anywhere and is complete in attack.”
“It’s good to have players like that. He’s an attacking player, a winger, a striker, an attacking midfielder… You have a joker card; you can use him when others get injured.”
It remains to be seen how Atletico Madrid would approach this transfer now, as Julian Alvarez has emerged to become a key player for them since his transfer from Manchester City. On the other hand, now they know from the player’s own mouth that he wants a transfer, and keeping him against his wishes would definitely not be the best course of action for any club.
Hopefully, the Mattress Makers would take the advice of their former star, Kun Aguero, and agree to his transfer, which would not entirely be bad for them, as they would get to have a significant amount of money in terms of transfer fee. Meanwhile, Barcelona would continue to work to ensure this transfer is completed as soon as possible.
