The release of the 2026/27 Serie A fixture list, combined with UEFA’s match calendar, throws up several fascinating scheduling headaches for Italy’s European clubs. Here is a look at the weeks that could define seasons.

Inter Milan face the most demanding schedule of any Italian club, carrying Champions League duties alongside their Scudetto defence.

Two fixtures stand out in particular. In early November, Inter host Como in Serie A on Matchday 11 (~8 Nov) sandwiched around UCL group stage action, before facing Atalanta at San Siro the following week.

More pressingly, the first Derby della Madonnina against Milan falls on 1 November, right between UCL matchdays, making that week arguably the most intense of Inter’s entire campaign.

Napoli face a punishing run in mid-February when their Champions League Round of 16 first leg would fall between weeks 24 and 25, meaning Allegri’s side, should he take over as anticipated, host Juventus on 14 February in Serie A before a possible European date and then face Lazio on 21 February. Three massive games in the space of eight days.

Como learn Serie A fixtures nestled among key Champions League weeks

Roma have perhaps the most dramatic scheduling quirk of all. Their Derby della Capitale against Lazio falls in Week 15, around 13 December, just days after their penultimate Champions League group stage matchday, meaning it could be either a great or

Como enter Champions League football for the first time ever, and their fixture list offers little mercy. They face a UCL matchday followed immediately by Milan vs Como on 20 December, a glamour fixture arriving at the worst possible moment energy-wise.

Juventus and Milan both navigate the Europa League knockout phase in February while simultaneously facing each other in the Derby d’Italia, Milan vs Juventus falls in Serie A week 22, 31 January, right before the KPO second legs. A slip in either competition that week could have significant consequences for both clubs’ seasons.

Atalanta, in the Conference League, have a notably testing April, their potential quarter-final legs fall either side of week 31 and 32, with Juventus also on the horizon in week 34.
