Cagliari have secured their Serie A safety after coming back from a Rafael Obrador screamer to beat Torino with Sebastiano Esposito and Yerry Mina goals.
The Sardinians needed one point to be sure of their Serie A status after the 2-0 defeat to Udinese. Ze Pedro was suspended, with Mattia Felici, Leonardo Pavoletti, Luca Mazzitelli and Riyad Idrissi injured. The Granata had Gvidas Gineitis suspended, with Tino Anjorin, Ardian Ismajli and Zarakia Aboukhlal out of action.
There was a sweet moment before kick-off, as Cagliari striker Leonardo Pavoletti was saluted on his retirement.

Marco Palestra had a couple of attempts after sprinting down the right which troubled Alberto Paleari, but Giovanni Simeone should’ve done better when firing over the bar from seven yards following his give and go with Nikola Vlasic.
Simeone also failed to keep his header down from a promising position, then was about to pull the trigger after pouncing on an Adam Obert error when he was denied by the desperate Yerry Mina sliding tackle.
It was just a warning, as Torino did score on the resulting corner kick. It was taken shown, finding Rafael Obrador for an extraordinary long-range strike into the near top corner, with power and a vicious swerve.

The lead lasted barely 60 seconds before Sebastiano Esposito gathered with his back to goal in the D, turned and drilled low into the far bottom corner with his right foot to equalise.

Cagliari turned it around in first half stoppages, as while Paleari acrobatically flapped away the Gabriele Zappa effort at the near post, he could do nothing as Mina bundled the rebound over the line.

Paul Mendy’s glancing header flashed wide on a Cagliari corner after the restart, but Elia Caprile needed a sensational reaction save with his foot to keep out the Che Adams volley at the back post after Zappa misread the bounce.
