Como sporting director Caralberto Ludi has hinted that Nico Paz could make his return to Real Madrid next season.
It must be noted that the Spanish giants have a buy-back option for the young midfielder, and the player himself is believed to be open to the idea of rejoining his boyhood club.
When asked about the situation, Ludi made it clear that the possibility remains open but stopped short of confirming anything.
Giving his perspective on the talented midfielder, he said, “Until something is definite, I can’t comment.
“But Nico is a player who they have trained, an extraordinary talent who is growing in one of the most important leagues in Europe.”
Ludi’s comments came during a press conference ahead of Como’s clash with Juventus.
The Italian side’s coach, Cesc Fabregas, is currently serving a suspension and will watch the game from the stands, leaving Ludi to handle media duties.
When asked directly about the potential move, Ludi further explained Real Madrid’s involvement, saying,
“Real Madrid can exercise their right of repurchase. He plays in a team where there are many Real Madrid players.
“Everyone is talking about it and perhaps it is also Nico’s legitimate desire, for a guy who has been trained in that context.
“I can’t speak for him, but I imagine that’s the case, although he’s very happy here,” he noted.
The Como sporting director also took the opportunity to highlight the strong working relationship between the two clubs.

He emphasised the mutual respect and trust that has developed, noting,
“We have a great relationship with Real Madrid, who are undoubtedly grateful to us for having worked well with Nico Paz and also with Jacobo Ramon.”
Under the existing agreement between the clubs, Real Madrid could bring Nico back for around €10 million, depending on what happens during the January transfer window.
Local reports suggest Los Blancos are keeping a close eye on every offer that arrives for the midfielder. Ludi confirmed this ongoing monitoring, stating,
“There is a written contract. Unless an incredible team comes along and makes a higher offer in January. His destination depends on him. He must assess his growth at Como.”
In his second season under Fabregas, the Real Madrid youth product has been a standout performer in Serie A, scoring three goals and providing three assists, directly contributing to six of Como’s seven goals this campaign.
With Real Madrid already tracking his progress closely, a return to the Santiago Bernabeu next season seems more than just a distant possibility.
