Brazil’s 2025 Série A clubs posted a record R$ 14.3 billion, up from R$ 10.7 billion in 2024, lifted by R$ 3.9 billion in player sales and R$ 836 million from the FIFA Club World Cup. Total debt still exceeds income at R$ 17.3 billion.
According to Globo.com, the figures are from an annual report by Convocados Gestão with Outfield and Galapagos.
Flamengo led with R$ 1.9 billion, followed by Palmeiras on R$ 1.6 billion, Botafogo R$ 1.3 billion and Fluminense R$ 1 billion, all Club World Cup participants.
On recurring revenue only, excluding transfers and Club World Cup prizes, Flamengo posted R$ 1.3 billion, ahead of Corinthians on R$ 879 million and Palmeiras with R$ 733 million.
Report author Cesar Grafietti said the game is expanding but depends on volatile income, with transfers and prizes boosting 2025 without long-term predictability. He said the challenge is to build stronger recurring cash and reduce reliance on one-offs.
Debt across the 20 clubs rose 15 per cent, driven mainly by operational liabilities, especially signings.
Three clubs make up 43 per cent of the total, Atlético-MG on R$ 2.6 billion, Botafogo rising from R$ 1.6 billion in 2024 to R$ 2.5 billion, and Corinthians at R$ 2.4 billion.
Only São Paulo, Vasco and Juventude cut debts. São Paulo dropped from R$ 1.08 billion to R$ 934 million, Vasco from R$ 1.04 billion to R$ 903 million, and Juventude, relegated to Série B, from R$ 39 million to R$ 28 million.
