Inter came back from two goals down in a home Serie A game against Pisa, eventually securing a comfortable 6-2 win with six different goal-scorers.

Inter claimed a 6-2 win over Pisa on Friday, but struggled more than many would have expected as the Tuscans took a two-goal lead in the opening 23 minutes.

Stefano Moreo scored both Pisa goals, and the first was a goal-of-the-season contender.

Yann Sommer was forced off his box to receive a backpass from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but the goalkeeper’s distribution was far from ideal as Moreo intercepted the pass and beat the Inter keeper with a 30-yard lob.

Yann Bisseck tried to get the Nerazzurri back in the game, but his left-footed shot from inside the box after a solo run was wide of the near post.

Just eights minute after scoring the opener, Moreo doubled Pisa’s lead with a header at the near post from a left corner kick.

Cristian Chivu made a tactical substitution after barely 30 minutes, introducing Federico Dimarco for Luis Henrique. The Brazilian was booed by his own fans as he left the pitch, but Chivu’s decision proved to be a winning one.

The Nerazzurri became increasingly dangerous on the left and earned a penalty at minute 39 for a Matteo Tramoni handball. Piotr Zielinski earned and converted it, sparing the Nerazzurri’s comeback.

Two minutes later, Dimarco provided a perfect cross for Lautaro, who easily won the duel inside the box and beat Scuffet with a header at the far post.

Pio Esposito completed the comeback in the stoppages as he cut inside the box and powered the header into the net from an Alessandro Bastoni cross.

Pio had another chance after the break, but Scuffet tipped it to the top corner with his opposite hand before producing another save on Dimarco.

Inter came back from two goals down in a home Serie A clash against Pisa, completing a comeback with Piotr Zielinski, Lautaro Martinez and Francesco Pio Esposito in the opening Round 22 match.

Marcus Thuram and Nicolò Barella were introduced for the final 30 minutes. The French striker led a counter-attack, but could not finalise it as Scuffet made another diving save to his right, and on the rebound Dimarco hit the post as Calabresi deflected his attempt with a sliding tackle.

Pisa only had a chance with a Canestrelli header from a corner kick, but Inter eventually killed off the game with an extraordinary Dimarco volley, which hit the inside of the post and went in.

The Italian defender was involved in Inter’s fifth goal as well as his through ball found Bonny, who entered the box, dribbled past two defenders and found the net from a tight angle inside the box.

There was also time for Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s first Serie A goal in over a year. The Armenian took advantage of Bisseck’s headed pass from a corner kick, popping up at the far post and nodding it in from just a few inches out.

Inter’s win allows the Nerazzurri to move six points clear of second-placed Milan, who have a game in hand to be played away at Roma on Sunday.
