Claudio Ranieri ends his career steering Roma to the Europa League spot, as they had been fourth for much of the evening until a Juventus turnaround.

The Giallorossi knew they had to win and hope that Juventus slipped up in Venice to snatch fourth place and Champions League qualification, but also that Lazio were right behind eager to steal fifth and the Europa League spot.

Ali Dembele made a very clumsy intervention on Alexis Saelemaekers and brought him down for a Roma penalty, which Paredes converted hard into the side-netting, despite Vanja Milinkovic-Savic guessing the right way.

With Juventus losing to Venezia, at this moment Roma were in fourth place for the Champions League.

Perciun stung Mile Svilar’s gloves and Bryan Cristante had the ball in the net on 83 minutes with the inside of the boot from the edge of the area, but it was disallowed as Angelino’s kneecap was offside before the assist.

Moments later, Che Adams saw his daisy-cutter smack the base of the upright from outside the box.
