According to Sky Sport Italia, the cost of the operation was a €5m fixed fee plus add-ons.

He arrived last night on Italian soil and underwent his medical today, putting pen to paper on a contract to June 2030.

“Sporting Director Antonelli presented me with an ambitious project that convinced me from the very beginning,” Halhal told the official club website.

“Joining Venezia is a fantastic opportunity, and one that I embraced with great enthusiasm. The city is beautiful, the stadium is impressive, and the training facilities provide everything a team needs to perform at the highest level.

“I see myself as a defender with a strong and determined mentality. I enjoy building play from the back, carrying the ball forward when space opens up, and putting my teammates in the best possible positions to create danger.”

Frosinone, another newly-promoted side this summer, picked up former TSG Hoffenheim defender Akpoguma as a free agent.

He has signed on with the Canarini until June 2028.

The 31-year-old can play in any defensive role and has eight senior caps for Nigeria, after representing Germany at various youth levels.

Monza have officially secured midfielder Akinsanmiro from Inter, on loan with an option to buy for €7.5m that can become an obligation if certain conditions are met.

Inter also retain a 10 per cent cut of the future sale fee.

The Nigeria international spent last season on loan at Pisa.

Fiorentina allowed Abdelhamid Sabiri to join Turkish side Eyupspor for free after loans with Sampdoria, Al-Fayha, Ajman Club and Al-Taawoun.

He had been a €2.5m investment in January 2023, but never made a single competitive appearance for the club.
