AC Milan gear up to face Genoa in matchday 12 of the 2025/26 Serie A Women season on Sunday, 1 February at 12:30 CET at the F. Chinetti Stadium in Solbiate Arno. This marks the first fixture of the second half of the season. Coach Bakker's side will be hoping to strengthen their position, while de la Fuente's Genoa look to climb the rankings. Both teams are set to give it their all, and it's time for us to prepare for kick-off with our Match Preview.

LATEST FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL The Rossonere come into the game following an impressive 3-0 victory over Ternana Women last weekend, a result that has spurred them on despite their inconsistent form. Halfway through the season, AC Milan are right in the middle of the table in sixth place with 17 points, just three points away from the Champions League qualification zone. Having been recently knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia, despite a strong performance, Coach Bakker's team are now eager to keep improving and achieve their goals. Babb, Piga, and Sorelli will be unavailable.

Ahead of the match, Coach Bakker commented, "We have to put our feelings and disappointment from the Coppa Italia behind us. We need to keep our focus on the league and the next fixture, bringing the same style of play we showed in Florence, while being more decisive in attack."

LATEST FROM GENOA Genoa are in the midst of a difficult season, with two victories and eight losses. De la Fuente's side have struggled to pick up points, with only seven, they are now at the bottom of the table along with Ternana Women. They have the second-worst attack and the second-worst defence in the league. However, there have been moments of hope for the Rossoblù. They recently secured a 1-1 draw in Florence and lost narrowly 0-1 to league leaders Roma, demonstrating their determination and fighting spirit against high-level opponents.

PRE-GAME FACTS

  • AC Milan have won their first and only Serie A game with Genoa so far; it was a 2-1 victory on 5 October. The Rossonere have now recorded two wins in their first two league games against twelve of the 21 opponents they've faced so far in the league.
  • After their 3-0 victory over Ternana, the Rossonere are in with the chance of having back-to-back wins against newly promoted sides in the top flight for the first time since 2021/22 (four in that season, against Pomigliano and Lazio). Generally, AC Milan have not managed to keep clean sheets in two consecutive games of this kind since February-October 2023.
  • Among the teams in the Top-5 European leagues in 2025/26 that have scored 100% of their goals from inside the penalty area, the Rossonere have scored the most with 20, at least two more than any other side.
  • Kayleigh van Dooren is AC Milan's top scorer this season with five goals, and scored them all at home. Since 2022/23, only three Rossonere have done better in home games in a single campaign: Ijeh (7 in 2024/25), Asllani (6 in 2022/23), and Piemonte (8 in 2022/23).
