It's AC Milan v Roma. Women's Serie A 2025/26 matchday two brings us a big match. Coach Bakker's Rossonere are awaiting their clash against the Giallorosse, a side that have always played a key role in recent season. It's an important test after the risky but positive opener in the league, a chance to understand our true strengths and send some signals to ourselves and the rest of the league. Let's have a look at the details with our Match Preview:

LATEST FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL The Rossonere have already faced the "new" Roma, losing at the start of September in the Serie A Women's Cup. It was a solid performance but they suffered under the attacking play of the opposition, conceding late on at the Tre Fontane. This time, the match will be at Velodromo Pavesi in Fiorenzuola d'Arda. In the 2024/25 season, at the PUMA House of Football, AC Milan beat the Giallorosse on two occasions: 3-1 and 3-2 thanks to great team performances. The first match against Genoa caused some scares but Ijeh and Koivisto secured the comeback in the late stages to the joy of the group, who have been working hard to improve. The team is expected to play with a 4-3-3 formation. Babb, Sorelli, Stokić and Zanini are unavailable.

"Facing a dynamic team like AS Roma in our first home game of the Serie A is an exciting challenge", Suzanne Bakker said on the eve of the match. "Discipline and focus from the start will be key and with our fans behind us, we're ready to give everything".

LATEST FROM ROMA Roma replaced their Coach in the summer, with the appointment of Rossettini. There were many big departures and arrivals, with the team keeping a solid base from which they can restart. In the Serie A Women's Cup, the Giallorosse fell short in the Final, a 2-3 loss in the latter stages against Juve. However, in the league, they put this behind them with a 4-0 win against newly-promoted Parma. In recent days, it's worth noting the heavy 6-2 loss away to Real Madrid in the Champions League, a competition that Roma will return to on Wednesday, against Barcelona. Special attention needs to be paid to the attacking department: from Babajide to Viens, Corelli, Galli and Haavi.

Giada Greggi commented on the clash against AC Milan, following the loss to Real Madrid: "Obviously, we will need to work lots of the errors made, and from tomorrow (Thursday 9), we won't think about this match anymore, but on the next one to move forwards. There'll be other difficult matches, but this is the beauty of football".
