Felix Nmecha remains a name that comes up time and again around Säbener Straße. However, a move by the BVB pro to FC Bayern this summer currently appears unlikely—despite continued interest from the German record champions.

The 25-year-old is generating a lot of interest on the transfer market, and FC Bayern is also said to appreciate the Dortmund midfielder’s qualities. However, the Munich club does not seem willing to go all out this summer.

According to Sky, it is “very unrealistic that Bayern would spend that much money on a central midfielder.” A transfer of this magnitude is unlikely to be on the table at Säbener Straße for the time being.

This is also due to the signings already in the works. The Munich club is set to sign left back Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt and attacking midfielder Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven. The combined cost for the duo is expected to be around 110 million euros. That doesn’t leave much financial wiggle room for another expensive midfielder.

Nmecha would be expensive for Bayern

Added to this is the high price tag that Borussia Dortmund has placed on its player. According to BILD, the BVB bosses’ bottom line is at least 120 million euros, while kicker recently reported a figure of around 100 million euros. Nmecha has a contract with Dortmund through 2030, and there is no buyout clause this summer. BVB officials can therefore take a relaxed approach to the speculation.

While Bayern Munich is hesitating, other top clubs are reportedly lining up for Nmecha. As Sky reports, Manchester United has recently intensified its efforts to sign the German World Cup star. Head of scouting Christopher Vivell is apparently in contact with the player’s camp.

Manchester City and Liverpool FC are also said to be keeping an eye on Nmecha, while in Spain, Real Madrid is considered a potential suitor.
