Giorgi Kochorashvili’s route back to LaLiga has become complicated, El Periódico Mediterráneo reports, with Sevilla entering the race for the Georgia international.

The 27-year-old is not in Sporting de Portugal’s plans for 2026/27, one year after joining from Levante. He made 26 appearances but did not nail down a starting place, and the club have been working on an exit.

Getafe had been leading the chase, proposing a loan with an option to buy due to budget and registration limits. Sporting have prioritised a permanent transfer, or a loan with an obligation to purchase, which has slowed talks.

Sevilla are seeking midfield reinforcements following Nemanja Gudelj’s departure and have placed the former Castellón midfielder among their alternatives. His experience in Spanish football is considered a potential fit.

Sevilla’s arrival shifts the landscape. Getafe remain interested, but the lack of agreement on deal structure has opened an opportunity the Andalusian club are attempting to exploit. Sporting want a swift resolution for a player under contract until 2030 but not retained for their new project.
