Sevilla ‘to finalise’ new loan for Vlachodimos | OneFootball

Sevilla are pushing to extend Odysseas Vlachodimos’s loan from Newcastle United, with negotiations said to be in their final stretch and optimism that a deal could be closed this week.

Muchodeporte reports that Sevilla have agreed to take on a much larger share of the goalkeeper’s salary than last season. Meanwhile, ABC de Sevilla claims the clubs are fully aligned, with only final contractual details to resolve.

Sevilla ringfenced scarce funds for the goalkeeping and centre-forward positions at season’s end. Vlachodimos, outstanding last year, stayed top choice despite Newcastle’s early demands, prompting a brief look at Diego Conde before talks reopened.

Still contracted to Newcastle, the Greece international has formally told the club he would not accept offers other than Sevilla. With a permanent transfer beyond Sevilla’s budget, both sides are now discussing another loan.

Recruiting a striker remains urgent. Stalled talks to renew Alexis Sánchez have sharpened that need. Free options such as Joselu Mato are being monitored, with a moderate outlay also considered for Adrián Liso, valued by Real Zaragoza at four million euros.

A more proven forward would depend on a major sale to deliver immediate liquidity. Without departures, Navarro’s room for manoeuvre will narrow over the summer. The expectation in Nervión is that confirming Vlachodimos’s return will be the next official step.
