Sevilla have re-energised their plans after confirming Juan Iglesias and Jon Guridi, putting Joselu Mato back among next season’s attacking priorities under Luis García Plaza.
ABC de Sevilla reports that negotiations with the Spain international, born in Stuttgart, have resumed with optimism after a pause caused by the sporting crisis and the purchase process led by Sergio Ramos. He would arrive as a free agent after leaving Al-Gharafa in Qatar, which would help the club’s finances.
Despite being 36, scouting reports support a move that would add nous and penalty-box efficiency. He is close to 200 La Liga appearances with about 70 goals, and posted 10 in 23 league matches in Qatar. His link-up play, aerial strength and decisive finishing address a side that lacked punch last season.
In a contrasting profile and budget, Sevilla are also tracking Real Zaragoza winger Adrián Liso. The recruitment team are running the numbers ahead of an initial formal bid.
Zaragoza are expected to set an asking price near three million euros. Getafe CF have already seen a first offer of one and a half million euros rejected, a marker for Sevilla’s outlay. Clarity on salary room will dictate whether experience and potential can be combined in the window.
