Sevilla ‘to sign’ Fran González and Julio Díaz after Madrid talks | OneFootball

Sevilla are closing in on deals for Real Madrid goalkeeper Fran González and Atlético Madrid left-back Julio Díaz, with both moves could be finalised in the coming days.

ABC de Sevilla reports that negotiations with both clubs are advanced, with contract details and medicals still to be completed before agreements are signed.

Díaz chose Sevilla after rejecting Levante and already has a full understanding with the Andalusian side. Atlético want to keep control of the academy product, while Sevilla aim to buy 50% of his federative rights.

Talks for González are following a similar path. The Spain under-21 international is a priority on a permanent basis rather than a loan, and discussions with Real Madrid are positive, with only the precise ownership split left to settle.

González is noted for his stature, sharp reflexes and command of the air, plus assured one-on-one work and clean distribution. Díaz offers powerful running on the left with attacking thrust and defensive discipline, and made his first LaLiga starts last season under Cholo Simeone.

If both deals are completed, Sevilla would inject top domestic youth into the squad. With medicals to be scheduled and paperwork close, the club are waiting for the right moment to announce the signings.
