Shanghai Shenhua continues to push for Adama Traoré Malouda: Will the deal go through?
According to African press reports, Shanghai Shenhua are looking to sign Malian sensation Adama Traoré Malouda, who is doing well in Hungary with Ferencváros TC. The reigning Chinese Super League champions want to continue their dominance in the Chinese Super League and maintain that success next season, and signing the winger will help the team to continue that success for a long time to come.
The 30-year-old Malian has spent three seasons in Hungary, scoring 40 goals and providing one assist in those three seasons. After a decline in his performance, he decided to leave the team this summer to start a new life away from Hungary.
The Chinese Super League side has set their sights on Malian international Adama Traoré, currently valued at €3 million by his club. However, Shenhua's initial €1 million bid fell short of expectations from Hungarian side Ferencváros, where the 26-year-old remains under contract until June 2026.
Sources indicate the Chinese club is preparing an improved offer to test Ferencváros' resolve. Traoré himself has reportedly received an attractive three-year proposal from Shanghai and awaits the clubs' agreement on terms. Should negotiations progress, the versatile midfielder could soon find himself continuing his career in Zhuhai.
This transfer saga highlights the growing tension between Asian clubs' spending power and European teams' valuation of African talent. As the window progresses, all eyes remain on whether Shenhua will meet the asking price for a player entering his prime years.
