Shaquille O'Neal fronts Vasco's new main shirt sponsor, sings casaca | OneFootball

Vasco have unveiled SportingBet as their new main shirt sponsor until the end of 2027, fronted by Shaquille O'Neal.

According to Globo.com, the American basketball legend leads the campaign and appears in a video singing 'casaca' before shouting 'Vamos, Vasco!'.

The partnership debuts on the shirt on Saturday against Mirassol at 20:30 in São Januário. The deal includes an option to renew for one further season.

The agreement includes a fixed fee per season, additional sums linked to fans creating accounts, and bonuses tied to performance in competitions.

Talks had been advanced since June. Early this month, after the World Cup pause, club departments staged a media day with the shirts already carrying the brand.

The removal of president Pedrinho by a court-appointed intervenor last month delayed the official announcement. Both parties wanted to confirm the partnership and launch it with the crowd present.

Vasco had been without a main sponsor since the end of last year following Betfair's exit.
