Congratulations to Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw who has been named the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League.

Shaw voted Etihad Player of the Season

The Jamaican received the most votes in a hotly contested field which also contained City team-mate Kerstin Casparij, Aston Villa’s Kirsty Hanson, Spurs’ Olivia Holdt, Everton’s Ruby Mace, Manchester United’s Jess Park, Arsenal’s Alessia Russo and Chelsea’s Alyssa Thompson.

It follows another historic campaign for Bunny who broke new ground once again en route to the English top-flight crown this season and is the third individual accolade she’s won after the FWA Player of the Year and Etihad Player of the Season.

Her tally of 21 goals in 22 WSL assignments saw her claim the Golden Boot for the third consecutive season – the first time a player has done so in the competition’s history.

And by reaching that amount, she became the first player to hit the 20-goal mark in three separate English top-flight campaigns.

Shaw named FWA Footballer of the Year

Four of those strikes came in a 6-1 win over Aston Villa, which saw her become the first player in the Club’s professional history to reach – and then surpass – 100 goals in all competitions.

Three months later, she scored the quickest and earliest WSL hat-trick of all time in a 5-2 success over Spurs at the Joie Stadium, with her three strikes coming between the eighth and 21st minute.

Joining the Club in the summer of 2021, Shaw has gone on to find the net 117 times in 137 appearances.

And it is the second time she has been named the WSL Player of the Year after winning the award following the 2023/24 campaign.
