Our No.9 hit a special hat-trick, with all three goals coming in the minutes either side of half-time, to take her country to a vital victory in the Concacaf Championship qualifiers.

Wearing the captain’s armband as always, Shaw’s first came from the penalty spot, expertly sending Antiguan goalkeeper Anik Jarvis the wrong way.

That was the final key moment of the first half and our striker picked up from there just a few minutes into the second period, receiving the ball in the box, turning back and hammering home with her left foot.

The trio was complete just a few minutes later as she powerfully headed home a floated Kiki van Zanten cross from around 12 yards out.

Undoubtedly the game’s best player, Shaw was then removed with around 20 minutes to go as Jamaica look towards next week’s clash with Guyana.

They currently sit top of Group B in the Concacaf Championship qualifiers with nine points from three games.

As long as they avoid defeat to Guyana on 19 April, they will qualify for the finals of the Championship, set to be held in November and December this year.

USA and Canada received a bye straight to the tournament, with all other nations required to qualify through the groups.

We’ll have reports and roundups from all matches throughout the international break involving our players right here on mancity.com and our official app.
