It has been reported that Sturm Graz are interested in signing Sheffield United striker Ryan One.
It is expected to be a very busy end to the transfer window for Sheffield United, and one player who may well be departing Bramall Lane is young attacker Ryan One, who is now the reported subject of interest from Austrian Bundesliga outfit Sturm Graz.
Sheffield United have started their 2025/26 Championship season in woeful fashion, with the Blades yet to collect a point in their opening three matches, following the appointment of former Reading boss Ruben Selles.
Selles replaced Chris Wilder over the summer, after United collapsed away from automatic promotion at the back end of last season before then losing the play-off final to Sunderland at Wembley Stadium.
In what has been a bizarre summer transfer window, it has to be said that the Sheffield United squad has not looked in great shape, and a bit of work is needed on it with just a few days to go.
That bit of work is likely to include some further incomings, or at least surely has to, but outgoing business does not yet appear to be concluded, and One could be among those.
According to the Daily Record, Austrian champions Sturm Graz are keen on bringing in Sheffield United striker Ryan One before the close of the transfer window.
It has been reported that Sturm are interested in signing the 19-year-old, who began his professional career with Hamilton Academical, on a loan deal.
One, who has represented Scotland at U17, U19 and U21 level, has become a part of Sheffield United’s first-team squad in the last couple of years, and he has played in all three of their Championship defeats so far this season, albeit collecting just 56 minutes.
Sturm have recently concluded another piece of EFL business involving a Scotsman, sanctioning the sale of right-back Max Johnston to Derby County for £3.5 million.
The Austrians, under the management of Jurgen Samuel, have this week been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the play-off round stage due to a 6-2 aggregate loss to Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt.
United had to deal with a lot of turnover right at the start of the summer with lots of loan deals concluding, such as Harry Souttar, Alfie Gilchrist, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, Ben Brereton Diaz, Hamza Choudhury, Harry Clarke and Rob Holding.
As well as that, Rhian Brewster departed South Yorkshire for Derby County at the end of his contract, whilst key first-teamers Anel Ahmedhodzic, Vinicius Souza and Kieffer Moore have been sold on to Feyenoord, Wolfsburg and Wrexham respectively.
In terms of incomings, United have brought in eight new first-team signing, with the most recent being Danny Ings on a free transfer, one of four permanent additions alongside Ehije Ukaki, Mihail Polendakov, Nils Zatterstrom and Japhet Tanganga.
United have also signed a further four players on loan deals: Tyler Bindon from Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa’s Louie Barry, Djibril Soumare of Braga and Atalanta defender Ben Godfrey.
It has been an extremely busy summer with a lot of changes at the club, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a mad dash towards the end of the market, with Ryan One among those who could be on the way out.
