Rangers signed the winger in the summer, but he is already attracting attention from European clubs. The Owls will be keeping a keen eye on a deal.
Rangers have rejected a substantial eight-figure bid for winger Djeidi Gassama, that may have given Sheffield Wednesday a financial boost had they accepted it.
The 22-year-old joined the Scottish giants in the summer transfer window, leaving the Owls for a reported £2.2m. He signed a four-year contract at Ibrox, but after a promising start to life in Glasgow, he has attracted attention from across Europe.
Spanish outfit Villarreal and Belgian side Club Brugge showed an interest in the former PSG youngster over the autumn, as per Rudy Galetti, but since the arrival of Danny Rohl, he has pledged his future to the Gers.
However, with Sheffield Wednesday rooted to the bottom of the Championship table on -7 points, and the club still stuck in administration, bringing in money is crucial. But, they look unlikely to gain from any potential sale of Gassama for now.
The winger has scored twice, registered two assists and played 23 Scottish Premiership games for Rangers this season, and at just 22, he is full of potential.

Therefore, it may not come as a surprise to see a side like Ligue Un's Monaco make an approach for him, with the Rangers Review reporting that a bid in excess of £10m has been rejected by the Scottish side, as they continue to hunt down Hearts at the top of the table.
This may just have a knock-on effect at Sheffield Wednesday, as they would likely profit from a sell-on clause put in the deal to sell Gassama to Rangers in the summer.
With players being sold quickly at Hillsborough throughout January, fans may be disappointed to see Gassama not given the chance to move to France's top flight, as Henrik Pedersen continues to fight with both hands tied behind his back in S6.
With just 18 games to go until Sheffield Wednesday's dismal season finally comes to an end, supporters may well be counting down the days that they have left in the Championship with this team.
Last season's 12th place finish was spectacular, especially when the situation involving Dejphon Chansiri's ownership took up plenty of attention away from the pitch. Rohl worked tirelessly to get his side playing exciting football, and Gassama bought into his plans.

Pacey, energetic, and an eye for goal, the former France U20 international has all the talent to become one of the most exciting young wingers in Europe. A move to one of the top divisions in the continent will surely come soon, but fans of the Owls won't forget his contributions in 2024/25 in a hurry.
He scored seven goals and picked up one assist in 43 Championship games, and a big-money move is surely only around the corner. For Sheffield Wednesday, it can perhaps not come quick enough.
