Sheffield Wednesday are in talks with Man United for the loan of Harry Amass
Henrik Pedersen has confirmed that talks are ongoing between Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester United to extend Harry Amass’ loan stint with the club.
The full-back joined the Owls on loan late in the summer transfer window, but he has since returned to Old Trafford following the expiration of that agreement.
The defender earned a lot of praise for his performances in the Championship, which has led to speculation of a move to Stoke City for the second half of the campaign.
Amass made 21 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday in the league prior to his return to Man United, contributing one goal and one assist.
But his immediate future is now uncertain, with the clubs having until 2 February to finalise the details of any potential loan before the market shuts.

Pedersen’s squad has been reduced to very few numbers due to injuries, as well as Amass’ departure, but the Dane has claimed that talks are ongoing with Man United to try and bring him back to the club.
However, nothing has yet been finalised, with the Sheffield Wednesday boss also suggesting that the Owls are working on other potential loan moves at the moment.
“We are still in dialogue with Man United for Harry to extend his loan, and we are in dialogue with some clubs to find a player who can help us, who can play as many positions as possible,” said Pedersen, via the club’s official YouTube channel.
“But right now we have not finalised anything yet, but we are close.
“With Harry, there’s a good communication but there is not finalised anything.
“So, in the end I don’t know where it will end, but I am still positive.”
Sheffield Wednesday have endured a difficult campaign, and are all but guaranteed to suffer relegation to League One.
But there is some light at the end of the tunnel, with the club set for a change in ownership in the near future.
Until then, concluding deals will be quite complicated due to the financial issues behind the scenes.
Next up for Sheffield Wednesday is a home clash against Portsmouth, the only team they’ve beaten in the league this season, with the sides set to meet on Saturday in a 3pm kick-off.

Amass benefitted massively from playing regularly for Sheffield Wednesday in the first half of the season.
It makes a lot of sense for Man United to stick with what was working, even if Stoke can offer him a platform to compete at a slightly higher level under Mark Robins.
It would be a great bit of business if the Owls could keep him at the club, especially because of how thin their squad has become with recent injuries.
The 18-year-old’s development is what should be prioritised, and his comfortability at Sheffield Wednesday means going back on loan to Hillsborough is the smartest choice for now.
