Sheffield Wednesday have been credited with an interest in the Wrexham midfielder
Sheffield Wednesday are undergoing a massive rebuild of their first team squad ahead of the new League One campaign.
The Owls are under new ownership after Arise Capital completed their takeover of the Yorkshire outfit at the beginning of May.
The group led by David Storch have been quite proactive in enacting significant changes behind the scenes, installing a new CEO and sporting director.
Simon Wilson has arrived as the recruitment chief, and he has already helped usher in seven new signings so far in the transfer market.
This includes the return of Barry Bannan from Millwall, along with the additions of players like Louie Barry, Jordi Liongola and Ricardo Santos, among others.
Harry Gray has also joined on loan from Leeds United, and there could yet be more activity between now and the 1 September transfer deadline.

It has been reported by The Star that George Dobson is another player on Sheffield Wednesday’s radar this summer.
The Wrexham midfielder was a key part of Phil Parkinson’s side in the Championship last season, making 40 appearances.
And it’s understood that a deal with the Red Dragons is unlikely at this stage, with the route to a transfer seen as difficult.
While a number of moves are currently being worked on as part of the Owls’ squad rebuild, it’s believed that their interest in the 28-year-old has been shelved for the time being.
However, it’s possible that Sheffield Wednesday will renew their push to sign him later in the window.
It’s been claimed that any deal for Dobson will be a competitive one, as the player has picked up interest from a number of Championship sides as well.
The midfielder contributed two goals and two assists in the league last season, helping Wrexham finish seventh in the table.
It’s also been reported that Nathaniel Chalobah is back in training with Sheffield Wednesday following the expiration of his contract.
However, it’s understood that it is a mutually-beneficial arrangement to allow the 31-year-old to stay sharp while he looks for a new club.
Cameron Dawson is similarly taking part in the Owls’ pre-season training, but a move to join the first team squad for the season ahead isn’t on the cards for now.
Pedersen’s side will begin the new League One campaign on 15 August with a trip to face Leyton Orient.

Dobson was a consistent starter for a team chasing promotion to the Premier League last season, so a move this summer was always going to be tough for the Owls.
However, it is a sign of their ambition under Arise Capital that they have not completely given up on a possible deal with Wrexham.
You’d imagine that they will face stiff competition for his signature if the 28-year-old did become available, and a move seems very unlikely at the moment.
But it’s a positive sign that Sheffield Wednesday are exploring all of their options in the transfer market, including potential deals that might just be out of reach in this transfer market.
