Sheffield Wednesday's squad rebuild is up and running for the summer
Sheffield Wednesday are in the middle of an extremely busy summer period for the club.
Arise Capital officially completed their takeover two months ago, and have made quick work of putting in place major changes behind the scenes.
David Bruce was appointed as the new CEO, while Simon Wilson arrived in June to take on the role of sporting director.
The former Stockport County recruitment chief will be working closely with Henrik Pedersen to help rebuild the first team squad.
Sheffield Wednesday suffered relegation to League One last season amid significant off-field issues, which included going into administration.
But the arrival of Arise Capital, a group led by David Storch, has signalled the beginning of a new era at Hillsborough, with wholesale rebuilding both on and off-the-pitch now in store.

It has been reported by The Star that former Leicester City forward Wanya Marçal is currently training with Sheffield Wednesday.
It’s believed that the Owls are taking a closer look at the 23-year-old with a view to potentially offering him a contract.
However, there are a number of clubs showing an interest in the talented winger, who is capable of playing across the frontline.
Marçal is currently without a club following his exit from the Foxes, having been unable to break into their first team squad.
He came through the League One side’s academy system, but made a total of three league appearances for the club, all of which came in the Championship.
The 23-year-old also went on loan to Dutch side De Graafschap during 2024/25, where he made 12 league appearances and contributed one goal and one assist.
It’s understood that Marçal is just one of several options being considered by Sheffield Wednesday, with no decision yet made on whether they will offer him a contract.
Opinion is split among Sheffield Wednesday supporters on whether this would be a positive move for the club, with some suggesting there is no harm in a deal like this.
Given he is only on trial at the moment, fans are happy with the Yorkshire outfit taking the opportunity to have a closer look at him.
However, others are sceptical as to whether this is a player good enough to be competing at the level required by the Owls.
And some supporters believe this is really the bottom of the barrel when it comes to potential signings.
Sheffield Wednesday have already completed the signings of Callum Slattery, Jordi Liongola and Ricardo Santos.

Sheffield Wednesday haven’t committed to any signing of Marçal just yet, and taking him in on trial gives them the scope to offer him a deal or walk away while seeing what he’s capable of up close.
The Owls have to keep an open mind to signings, as they need both quality and quantity of players this summer.
There are no guarantees he’d be a good addition if he did join, but bringing him on trial allows the club to have the best chance of giving him a proper assessment.
It would be a great chance for Marçal if he can convince Sheffield Wednesday that he’s ready, as it would give him a platform in League One to get his career up and running.
