Wednesday's major squad overhaul will require more outgoings - these three players should be considered for a Hillsborough exit
Sheffield Wednesday's summer rebuild could yet require difficult decisions on the outgoing front, even after a raft of new arrivals.
Reports have suggested the Owls are targeting as many as 20 signings this summer as the club looks to recover from a disastrous campaign that ended in relegation to League One and ushered in a new era under owner David Storch.
With such a significant overhaul planned, it is inevitable that not every member of the current squad will have a place moving forward.
While the priority has understandably been strengthening the squad, creating space - both financially and in terms of squad numbers - will be just as important over the coming weeks.
Several players endured underwhelming seasons at Hillsborough, whether through poor form, injuries or an inability to establish themselves in a settled role, and the club may now benefit from drawing a line under those situations.
Moving on players who are unlikely to feature prominently would also allow the Owls to reinvest wages and transfer income into areas of greater need as they attempt to assemble a squad capable of challenging towards the top end of League One.
With that in mind, here are three players Wednesday should consider moving on before the summer transfer window closes.

Jamal Lowe arrived at Hillsborough with a proven pedigree in the Championship, but his spell with Wednesday has never truly got going.
Despite flashes of quality, the 31-year-old struggled to establish himself as a consistent starter and even found himself on the bench during some of the club's most difficult periods last season.
For a player with his experience, Wednesday would have hoped for far greater influence in the final third.
There remains little doubt that Lowe possesses ability, and a campaign in League One could help revive his career.
However, with Wednesday embarking on a fresh rebuild, it may be the right time for both player and club to move in different directions.

If Wednesday are to fund such an extensive recruitment drive, difficult sales will be unavoidable, and Yan Valery looks one of the most logical candidates.
The defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Young Boys, and he has also maintained his standing internationally with Tunisia. Those factors should ensure there is interest in his services this summer.
Rather than attempting to reintegrate him into the squad, the Owls would arguably be better served accepting the first sensible offer that arrives.
Any transfer fee could be reinvested into the sizeable rebuild David Storch is overseeing, while removing another high-earner from the wage bill would further increase the club's flexibility in the market.

Charlie McNeill is another player whose Wednesday career has never quite lived up to expectations.
Signed with plenty of promise, the former Manchester United youngster struggled to make a meaningful impact in attack before later being used in an unfamiliar right-back role towards the end of last season.
That positional uncertainty perhaps summed up his time at Hillsborough, with it becoming increasingly difficult to identify where he is best suited or what role he can consistently perform.
While there is still time for the 22-year-old to develop elsewhere, Wednesday have now had a sizeable sample of his performances without seeing enough evidence that he can become a key player.
With a major squad overhaul underway, cutting their losses now may be the most sensible outcome for both parties, allowing McNeill the opportunity to rebuild his career while enabling Wednesday to focus on players better suited to their long-term plans.
