ExpressAndStar.com reports that Albion owner and chairman Shilen Patel has written to supporters, admitting last season's failings and setting out plans for coaching, recruitment and finances.

He called last season unacceptable, said it cannot be repeated and that lessons must be learned. He reaffirmed his pledge to keep communicating with fans, and credited James Morrison's leadership in securing safety.

Patel backed Morrison and his staff, confirming assistant Matt Gill's commitment. He outlined a retooled structure, with technical director Dominic Price from Maccabi Tel Aviv working alongside director of football operations Ian Pearce, and praised Tony Strudwick and academy manager Richard Stevens.

Addressing Bilkul's game model and data, he said Albion will integrate best practice with patience, using objective analysis in decisions, while accepting no club gets everything right. He acknowledged scrutiny following Andrew Nestor's short tenure as club president.

On recruitment, Patel wants dynamic, hard-working, well-coached players who can grow at Albion. Early deals for Barney Stewart, 22, and Jimmy-Jay Morgan, 20, fit that profile, and he pointed to value in Torbjorn Heggem and double player of the year Callum Styles.

He detailed exhaustive PSR work over more than two years and called the late two-point deduction frustrating, with no appeal so funds go to players and infrastructure. He said Albion now move under their own budget, believe squad cost ratio rules will help, and aim to lift revenues in 12 to 24 months under Sam Jeffery, Ashish Patel and an executive team led by Mark Miles.
